I am proud to be a 3/4 combination grade teacher at Richman Elementary School, a high-achieving Title I school, and I practically breathe teaching.
It is my passion and I am so blessed to be able to do what I love each day. It is my honor to help kids read, write, think mathematically and logically, while being demanded upon to do their best no matter what is happening otherwise. I see the "whole child" and I create an environment that affords safety and challenge, critical thinking and patriotism, and a love of learning.
I love what my Richman school site team does for children every day. Everyone works together and cares for all the students collectively - actually, no child is left behind.
Each school year is a chance to assess strengths, grow, and maximize potential. The term "lifelong learner" is just what it means and count me in...my list of "to do" and "to learn more about" is ever evolving.
Alongside the students, adults such as myself, the families, and staff members shine brightly in our professional learning community (PLC).
I am married to my best friend Ron and we have an Australian Shepherd named "Mocha." Both of them are smart and uplifting.
I believe in the notion of an internal locus of control, meaning we make our own choices that lead the direction of our lives, and I try to instill that in my students. Without education, who are we?
On both sides of my family and in my husband's family too, I am surrounded by educators. I am honored to be in this profession - it is indeed a "work of heart."
